People often ask me if it is possible to safely lose weight without exercise.

The answer is YES, and this can be done  by creating a "caloric deficit" by deducting a certain amount of calories from the calories you need in order to maintain your current weight at a "sedentary" activity level-  but as a  Nutrition and Wellness Counselor, I cannot propose, nor can I  endorse any weight management plan that does not include atleast 30 minutes of some sort of exercise per day, which means that any plan I devise for you will accompany a reminder of the need to do 30 minutes of  some sort of exercise daily.

While I cannot constantly supervise you to confirm whether or not you are following  my recommendation that you exercise 30 minutes per day, I am prohibited from counseling people who reveal to  me that they refuse to do 30 minutes of exercise per day.

It is possible to get exercise in ways you may not have thought of.

You can simply move around in a swimming pool if you have joint pain that makes it hard for you to walk.

You can invest in an "exercise chair" which allows you to sit during all exercises- and/or a "bowflex" which offers many ways to exercise while sitting,  and/or a "total gym" or some other piece of equipment that makes exercise easier.

Your doctor is probably the best person to advise you on the types of exercise you should do for your particular condition.
